Joseph is survived by his Wife Cindy Zimmerli, Children Anna Zimmerli and Adam Zimmerli, Sister Elaine Jordan, Cousin John Sweat, Son in law Hans Reimers, Grandchildren Morrison and Josephine Zimmerli Reimers and best four legged friends Willow and Sugar.

Joseph Fredrick Zimmerli was born in Taft, California to Marie and Fred Zimmerli. He attended East Bakersfield High School. He also had fond memories of playing hockey and living a few years in Calgary, Canada while his father was stationed there in the military. Joe was a veteran and served as a medic in the Vietnam war. When he returned he had peace in his heart and believed no young man should ever have to go to war.

After leaving the military Joe attended Chico State university where he earned a Bachelor's degree in communications.
After Joe finished college he started working for the oil and gas company. He was able to buy his own home and soon after he met the love of his life, Cindy. In the early 1990's Joe moved his family to Arvada, Colorado which was one of the best decisions he ever made. He started working for a pharmaceutical company and purchased a home that he lived in for thirty years.

Joe was a hard worker and extremely kind. He made many friends in his lifetime and could easily make friends with strangers and neighbors. He was funny and could be the life of a party. He loved food,(especially Barbeque and cookies) and Heinekens. He loved animals and found a lot of joy later in life spending time with his Grandchildren and dogs,(especially his beloved golden retrievers Sunnny and Rudy). Joe loved the music of his day and could remember exactly when he heard some of the world's greatest music.

The most important thing to Joe was his family and he took pride in providing and caring for them. He was especially proud of his children Anna and Adam who both have entrepreneur minds and are small business owners. A celebration of life will be held in Joe's honor at his home in Arvada. His family will always remember him as a being kind, funny and an amazing father.
