Joseph Gernazian Obituary

Joseph Gernazian, fondly known as Joe, passed away on December 5th, 2023 at the age of 76 in Lafayette, Colorado. He was born on November 16th, 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia. Joe was a friendly and outgoing individual, known for his love for his family. He will be missed tremendously by all who knew him.

Joe is survived by his daughter Holly Cody, son-in-law Bryan Cody, grandchildren Will Cody and Peyton Cody, his sister Lou Manos, brother-in-law Chris Manos and niece Deena. He was preceded in death by his mother Maggie Gernazian, his father Clement Gernazian, his sister Deena Gernazian and his brother Mike Gernazian.

After graduating from Northside High School, Joe proudly served in the US Navy Reserve as a Seabee. He was stationed in Port Hueneme, California. He served in various locations in Vietnam including Danang and Bien Hoa. He was also called to duty in Guam. His dedication and service to his country will always be remembered. Following his military service, Joe embarked on a career as an entrepreneurial businessman in Atlanta, Georgia. Most notably were his efforts to create and run a successful limousine business known as Northside Limousine. He later moved to Costa Rica where he became a real estate developer. His creative ideas were evident in all that he did.

In his free time, Joe enjoyed traveling with his friends, daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren.

A memorial service to honor Joe will be held on January 20th, 2024 at Christ Episcopal Church at 1210 Wooten Lake Rd NW, Kennesaw, Georgia.

Joe leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and friendship. He will forever be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
