Jim M. Varra Obituary

James Michael "Jim" Varra passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 8th, 2024. His wife, Janine, was by his side.

Jim was bom in Boulder, Colorado on May 19th, 1957, to Alvin Varra and Mary Malmstrom-Varra.

Jim grew up in Louisville, Colorado. He started his career in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator. He became quite accomplished in running heavy equipment and took pride in his work. For the remainder of his career, he worked in various positions at Rocky Flats. He was part of a team that managed the site-cleanup.

Jim's hobbies included riding his Harley's, hunting, archery, woodworking and gardening. His passion though, was target shooting. After losing sight in his right eye, with patience and perseverance, Jim taught himself to shoot left handed. A day at the range with his buddies brought him great joy.

Because of Jim's health issues, he faced challenges continuing to do these things he enjoyed. Over the last few months, Jim came to appreciate his quiet days at home.

Jim was a man of moral character and integrity. He had a keen sense of humor and a tender heart. He was a great guy who will be dearly missed.

Happy Trails Cowboy!
