Jerry Robert Mead, age 82, died peacefully in his home in Broomfield, Colorado, on August 25th, 2021 of natural causes. Jerry was born on January 15th, 1939 in Jackson Michigan. Jerry was raised by his late grandmother, Iva Anderson. Jerry was a self employed construction painter who took great pride in his work. Jerry is survived by his 4 children, Todd Mead, Jason Mead, Jeree Mead, and Molly Mead, his 2 step-sons, Tom and Mike Roach, his 14 grandchildren, Michael, Jessica, Anna, Kyle, Dylan, Brandon, Alyssa, Emily, Eli, Ean, Sienna, Nathan, Eric and Ivy, his great-grandson Casen, Helen, the mother of 3 of his children, and many other family and friends.
Besides spending time with his grandchildren, Jerry loved listening to Honkytonk music, playing cards, telling jokes and stories while chatting online with his friends, laughing, watching true crime shows, feeding the squirrels, reminiscing his past with pictures, fixing anything and everything, and helping others. In his younger years, he could clear a pool table, fix cars, and build computers. Jerry enjoyed fixing things and giving them away. He never wanted anyone to leave empty handed when leaving him. He enjoyed being a giver. Jerry was humble, kind and loving. He went out of his way to take care of others. He was honest, dependable, courageous, gentle, organized, and punctual. Jerry was loyal and a man of his word. He followed through with what he would say he would do, he was the first one to offer any help even if that meant his last dollar.
Jerry kept candy and soda in his refrigerator to hand out to all the neighbor kids. Saying Jerry was strong is an understatement. Jerry was tough as nails, yet tender by nature. Jerry was charismatic, humorous, and a true ladies man. With his nick name "Slick", he set the bar high on how to be a man. To know Jerry, was to love Jerry. He made all of his children proud of their names.
He will live in our hearts until the end of our days.
