James Clyde DeBell II
January 15th, 1934 – May 4th, 2020
James (Jim) DeBell Was Born in 1934 to James and Eva DeBell. They had a farm in North Denver with a small Italian Community. He graduated from Westminster High School in 1952. He attended the University of Colorado where he was on the wrestling team and received his teaching degree in 1956. He also received a Masters degree in American history and a Masters degree in Asian Studies. He spent his professional career at Westminster Highschool teaching history and coaching football, track and wrestling. He also had a few years in administration and as Athletic Director. His love was the classroom. He Retired in 1988 and worked a little for the IRS but finally accepted his retirement. In retirement he took up Race Walking. He was involved in the senior Olympics playing Racquetball and Race Walking. He also coached fellow retirees in Race Walking as it was easier on the joints.
He is survived by 3 children, Michelle, Lynnette and James and 4 grandchildren Amanda, Joycelyn, August and Marisa.
