In loving memory of Jackie, who was born on December 15, 1947, and passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024. Born and raised in Fortville, Indiana, she was a 1965 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and retired from Duke Energy in 2005.

She was a devoted mother to her son, Darien, and his wife, Jenny; daughter, Mandi; grandmother to Addison, Meredith, Jonathon, and Jordan; and great-grandmother to JP, Vivian, Jeremiah, and Jordan—whose love knew no bounds. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Avery ‘Abe’ and Rebecca Jayne VanLaningham, and her brother, Michael VanLaningham.

Jackie’s wit and infectious laughter brightened the lives of all who knew her. With an impeccable sense of style, she effortlessly turned heads wherever she went. Her passion for decorating and DIY projects reflected her creativity and ingenuity. Jackie cherished her lifelong friendships, nurturing them with love and laughter. A social butterfly, Jackie loved her circle of friends and never missed an opportunity to make new ones. Her warm, engaging nature drew people to her, and her friendships were deep and enduring. Whether in the mountains or by the beach, she found solace and joy in nature’s beauty.

But above all, Jackie will be remembered for her infectious laughter, selflessness, and unwavering support for others. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her legacy of compassion will continue to inspire us all. In the hearts of those she touched, Jackie’s spirit will forever reside, leaving behind cherished memories that will never fade.
