George Leroy Tucker Jr., 82, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021 in Denver Colorado. Born June 23, 1939, in Amarillo, Texas, he lived in Centennial Colorado most of his life. George was an architect and helped design many of the homes in the Normandy Estates area. In 1976, he opened his own business, “Originals in Wood”, designing furniture for condos in Keystone. He moved away from woodworking in the 1990’s and became a general manager for Caboose Hobbies. Aside from his love of model trains he was photographer, a master carver and skilled at stained glass. His final hobby was a shipmodeler. He was a member of Rocky Mountain Shipwrights where he became an avid builder of historical ships.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Dana Jennings Tucker, her two children, his son Darren Tucker, (Dian) of Prescott, Arizona and his daughter Kimberley Hamel (Joe) in Littleton Colorado. He leaves behind 6 granddaughters and one grandson.
A memorial service will be at the home on September 25, 2021, between 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Dana’s home. Please RSVP to Dana at jenningsd50@gmail.com. No flowers please. Donations can be sent Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
