"Francesca" Rhonda Katherine Roseto spent her life quietly helping others while remaining tenaciously herself.
Francesca was born on October 6, 1950, to Jim and Barb Roseto and was the eldest of five siblings. She was smart as a whip and worked in Washington DC as one of the first generations of computer programmers. While living in DC, she met her husband, Ed McCarthy. Together with Ed, her sister, and brother-in-law, she later opened an ill-fated Mexican restaurant, Tacos, Etc. In 1982 she gave birth to twins, Katie and Joel, to whom she selflessly dedicated much of her life. Later Francesca would go on to receive straight ‘A’s (obviously) while earning her master’s degree in psychology. In 2012 Francesca became a grandmother and set about making cherished memories with adoring grandchildren.
Proud winner of the “best legs” award at her college sorority, super-organizer, serial hobbyist, enthusiastic maker of child Halloween costumes, lover of tennis, basketball, pulpy mystery novels, Olive Garden, the movie Jaws, ChapStick, all animals everywhere and foe to dark coffee mugs, Francesca was a woman who lived life on her own terms and made the world a richer, sillier, more kind place. She will be remembered as a patient, loving, generous, and goofy person whose superpowers were solving other people’s problems and finding empty parking spots.
Francesca will be deeply missed by her loud, loving family and all her many friends. She is survived by her loving husband, children, two grandchildren, four sisters, brother, a whole bunch of cousins, and cat, Tig.
Francesca passed away on April 10, 2024 at peace and surrounded by her family. She travels now into the mystic with all those that came before, her parents, and her many beloved pets. Her life will be celebrated 11 AM, April 26 at The Establishment at Bradburn Village. Anyone who wishes to share stories or thoughts will be invited to speak. Lunch to follow.
