Emily Marie Peltz Obituary

Emily Peltz-Nichter passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Westminster, Colorado, in the early hours of October 28, 2025, after a four-year battle with breast cancer.

Born on Easter Sunday, April 6, 1958, in Michigan, Emily moved to Texas as a young child, where she spent most of her life and raised her three children — Josie, Lisa, and Richard. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy Dickinson; her first husband, William Peltz; and her second husband, Robert Nichter.

In the last few years of her life, Emily found peace and happiness in Colorado; enjoying the mountains, the changing seasons, and the company of her two young granddaughters, who affectionately called her “Gran.” A kid at heart in many ways, she loved making holidays special for the children in her life - even celebrating her 66th birthday at Chuck E. Cheese, much to her granddaughters’ delight.

A devoted animal lover, Emily shared her home with many beloved pets throughout her life and was comforted in her final years by her two orange cats, Haskins and Stripe. She was also a gifted gardener, who could turn any backyard into a welcoming, peaceful space. In healthier times, she could always be counted on for a long phone call, reminiscing and laughing with family and friends.

We were not ready to say goodbye, but we take comfort in knowing she is at peace. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her.
