Our beautiful mother, grandma, sister, and friend passed away peacefully on January 24th, 2024. 

Elvira Edna Cheramie Williams was born in Harvey, LA on July 24th, 1940 and lived a most incredible life always surrounded by her family. She was a lover of food, music, and culture and this allowed her to travel all over the world. 

Elivra met her husband, Walter, in 1958 and their desire was to build a loving and supportive environment for their children. In 1976 they moved to Gunnison, CO where she raised her children in the mountains and learned that's where her heart enjoyed being. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family and always tried to make sure that her family was never in need. She enjoyed preparing large Italian meals to feed her children and all of their friends. She was generous to all and always had wonderful family stories to share about her Italian food and culture. She was truly a gift to know and will be deeply missed.  

Elvira is preceded in death by her husband Walter Herbert Williams, mother, Louise Cheramie, father, Alton Cheramie, sisters, Patricia Cheramie and Catherine Barras, and children, Perry Williams, Stephanie Williams, and Matthew Williams. She is survived by her three children; Paul (Krista) Williams, Karen (Greg) Solano, and Lesley (Scott) Anderson, her five grandchildren; Jacqueline, Matthew, Mark (Courntey), Kimberly, and Cassondra (Dale), and her eleven great grandchildren.
