With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of my mom, Elena Martinez Garcia, who peacefully left us at the age of 76 on August 5, 2025, at her home in Louisville, Colorado.

She was born in Mexico City in December 1948 and attended school until the 7th grade but was later pursuing her GED. She was a strong single mother.

Elena enjoyed life, had a passion for her garden, and loved taking care of her plants and roses. Every afternoon, she would water her grass with a hose so she could talk to her plants. Cooking was another of her joys, especially making authentic Mexican food. Additionally, she cherished tutoring her only grandchild in math, writing, and reading, always speaking Spanish with him. She enjoyed reading her Bible and attending Sunday services, as her Christian faith played a significant role in her life.

Elena is survived by her children, Edgar, Ari, and Paul; her grandson, Eric Emmanuel; and her two dogs, Himiko and Firulais.
