Edward J. Twele Obituary

Edward Joseph Twele, beloved husband, father, papa, brother, and son, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024 at the age of 65. Edward is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Twele, his cherished daughters Lauren Vasu (Joshua) and Meghan Twele (Chris DiRubio), his adored grandchildren Brooklyn and Kendall Vasu, his devoted mother Franca Twele, his siblings Lori and Robert Twele, and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry (Hank) Twele.

Ed and Cathy were married on May 28, 1983, at Immaculate Conception after meeting in college at the University of Pittsburgh. They shared 41 wonderful years of marriage, a bond filled with love, adventure, and unwavering devotion. Their relationship was one that many aspire to, but few are blessed to find. Ed’s love for Cathy was evident in every aspect of their life together. Throughout their marriage, they shared a love for travel, family vacations in Hawaii, and a passion for live music events. Edward was an avid fly fisherman, golfer, and a dedicated fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins.

Edward was known for his honesty, punctuality, and good humor. A caring and selfless man, he always put his family and faith first. As dedicated financial advisor, Ed was known for his strong work ethic and deep loyalty to his clients. He earned their trust and respect not only as a skilled businessman but also as a genuinely good person, forging friendships that went beyond professional boundaries.

As a father, Ed was very proud of his two daughters. He enjoyed spending time with them, whether it was playing sports like baseball in the backyard, shooting hoops in the driveway, or enjoying a good game. From War to Gin Rummy to Masterpiece, Ed always made sure the games were fair—he never let anyone win without earning it.

Ed’s support for his daughters extended far beyond childhood. He was always there to help, whether it was with math homework during their school years or lending a hand during a move or offering financial guidance as they became adults. His love and support were constants in their lives.

When Meghan moved to Vail, Ed cherished his visits, enjoying skiing adventures and peaceful walks along Gore Creek. In 2016, Ed and Lauren took ballroom dance lessons together preparing for the father daughter dance at her wedding, creating a memory that Lauren will forever hold dear.

Ed found immense joy when becoming a Papa. He was a devoted and hands-on grandparent, cherishing every moment spent with his granddaughters. He shared a special bond with Brooklyn, enjoying swimming together, playing guitar for her, and engaging in fun games. When Kendall was born in 2023, Ed’s heart expanded even more. He looked forward to their naps together, where little Kendall would peacefully fall asleep on his chest, finding comfort in his embrace.

A memorial service will be held at the Shrine of St. Anne Catholic Church on Friday, August 23rd at 10 AM MT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN). Ed’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and dedication and though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace.
