Eamon Vaughn McMillan was born in Virginia on August 12, 1984, to Deborah Kramer Borek and Stanton Bruce McMillan. He passed at the age of 36 on Thursday, December 10. Eamon studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder and is survived by his parents and two brothers, Kieran McMillan of Louisville, CO and Brennan McMillan of St Louis, MO.
Eamon was a man ahead of his time, always seeking to understand the complexity and intricacy of the digital world. An innovator at heart, Eamon constantly envisioned technological advancements and new applications that would streamline our way of life. In 2017, he created an android phone app that allowed you to text your phone number and receive your GPS coordinates in case you lost your phone. Most recently, he created an Alexa enabled app that read law texts to aid insomnia. Eamon was truly in his natural habitat visioning, designing, and developing applications.
In addition to having a visionary mind, Eamon had a deep passion for music, which was ignited at the age of five when he began taking piano lessons. Eamon often combined his love of music and technology and would craft musical compositions on his computer to send to friends and family. Family members describe Eamon as easy going, happy, and smart with a positive outlook on life. “What I miss most is the cousin I could always bounce ideas off of. He never said anything negative about my ideas. He just added on to them.”
Given large group gathering restrictions due to COVID-19, the family has selected to have a private funeral service at this time. A memorial service will be scheduled in 2021 to honor the life of our beloved brother and son. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Colorado chapter of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness): https://www.coloradogives.org/index.php?section=organizations&action=newDonation&fwID=27730
