Duane Edward Neugebauer, age 69, of Broomfield, CO, passed away on November 24, 2025, peacefully in his home.

Born on March 7, 1956, in Long Beach, California, Duane was the beloved son of Donald and Joy Neugebauer. He grew up spending as much time as possible in the pool or ocean, making memories alongside his six brothers. He went on to build a life marked by adventure, humor, and hard work. He was an exceptional skier and also very much enjoyed surfing, fishing, camping, hunting, and hiking. He was happiest when he was able to share those interests alongside his friends and family.

Duane loved his four children and their spouses: Michelle and John Zizz of Erie, CO, Brian and Rachel Neugebauer of Joplin, MO, Derek and Danielle Shimeall of Springfield, MO, and Scott Neugebauer of Broomfield, CO. He enjoyed his role as a father and has left his children with cherished memories of camping trips, boat rides, animated story telling, and his famous french toast and bacon breakfasts. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kendra Shimeall, Josiah Zizz, Keelan Zizz, Noelle Zizz, Audrey Neugebauer, Drew Neugebauer, and Denver Shimeall, all of whom brought great joy to his life.

Duane was an active member of Flat Irons Community Church. He enjoyed serving in multiple capacities there, and his faith community became like family to him. He developed deep relationships with his camping group and enjoyed exploring, hiking, kayaking, and fishing with them.

Professionally, Duane built a successful career in sales and customer service. He graduated with an Associate Arts Degree from Orange Coast College. Over the years, he managed both local and national sales accounts, for which he was respected in his strong work ethic, dedication to his relationships with those he served, and consistent success and growth in his field.

He is preceded in death by his father Donald and his mother Joy and is lovingly remembered by his brothers Don, Dave, Dennis, Doug, Dann, and Dale.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Flat Irons Community Church or a GoFundMe page has been created to assist with final arrangements and medical expenses in his memory.
