On October 24, 2024 Dolores O’Neil passed away at home peacefully from natural causes, just three weeks after her second husband Joe Conway’s passing.
Dolores Regina Twigg was born in Cumberland, Maryland to Charles (Charlie) and Laura Twigg February 2, 1932, the oldest of three children, all preceding her in death. Like her father, it’s been said “she never met a stranger” and made friends everywhere she went.
She grew up in Cumberland, graduating from Fort Hill High School then married her first husband William (Bill) O’Neil in 1950. They lived in West Virginia while he completed his college degree where their only child Karen was welcomed. His work took them to Ohio and then on to Broomfield, Colorado where they settled in 1959.
Dolores worked for INA Insurance as a claims adjuster for many years then retired after Bill’s death to enjoy time with her grandchildren and friends then married her second husband, Joe in 2020.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Karen and Tom Alexander, her loving granddaughters Angela (Eric) Alexander-Howell and Kim (Steve) Kitterman, loving great-granddaughters Ilana (Arman) Sobhi, Ilese Kitterman, Alexandria Kitterman and her beloved therapy dog Tiko. In his honor she has bequeathed her pacemaker to the veterinary heart surgery program at CSU to give hope to a dog in need of heart surgery.
Private services will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery with a celebration of life following the services.
