Dennis Victor Seabourn Obituary

Dennis Seabourn
May 19, 1942 – December 29, 2024

Dennis Seabourn, a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong skier, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024, at the age of 82. Born in Durango, Colorado, on May 19, 1942, Dennis was raised in the town he loved, where he first discovered his passion for skiing—a love that would stay with him throughout his life.

Dennis attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, where he earned a degree in Physics in 1964. His career took him into the growing field of computer programming, where he worked for NASA in his late 20s before founding his own company, HASA Corporation. Dennis spent many years in the IT field, dedicating his professional life to innovation and problem-solving until his retirement.

Skiing was not just a hobby for Dennis; it was a lifelong passion. He shared his love for the sport by teaching at Copper Mountain for over 45 years, inspiring countless students and fostering a deep connection to the slopes.

In October 1988, Dennis married Marian. Together, they embarked on many adventures and cherished their time with their ten grandchildren. Dennis was a devoted family man, and his legacy lives on in his children and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Zella Seabourn, and his wife, Marian Seabourn. He is survived by his brother, Ron Seabourn and his wife Beryl; his sister, Marjorie Seabourn, and her partner, Bill Hyde; his daughters, Laura Weintraut (David), Michelle McGuire (William), and Kari Blackman (Andrew); and his ten cherished grandchildren: Adam, Aaron, and Ben Weintraut; Colin, Daniel, and Joseph McGuire; and Natalie, Nicholas, Shea, and Sam Blackman.

A service to celebrate Dennis’s life will be held on Saturday, January 11th, at 3:00 PM at The Establishment in Broomfield, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to https://www.coppercolorado.com/sustainability-community/play-forever/copper-environmental-foundation or https://BOEC.org

Dennis will be deeply missed, but his memory and the joy he brought to others will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
