Craig was born in Akron Ohio to Ernie and Margaret Tessmer. In 1970, Craig enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served four years before separating in 1974. After his military service, Craig attended Youngtown State University where he received a degree in civil engineering. Through school and a mutual friend, Craig met his future wife Viera Semanova. They married in Heartvill in 1978, settling in Colorado the same year. Craig worked for the Adams County Government for 24 years, retiring as an Environmental Analyst in 2017.
While often a quiet, observant man, Craig was never one to back away from and problem or adventure. He was an avid skier and outdoor enthusiasts, taking his family to Breckenridge to hike, Vedauwoo WY to camp and the Denver Zoo Lights before Christmas. His absolute joy was photography. Craig was never far from his camera. His wildlife photos and landscapes are a credit to his dedication and talent. Craig loved to be outside working on the lawn or fixing his cars. He took pride in his home and family. His greatest achievement was becoming a husband and father and never failed to express his love and support.
Craig is survived by his wife, Viera Tessmer, his son Nicholas Tessmer, daughter Megan Tessmer, grandsons Corbin Tessmer and Jason Tessmer, and his sister Ann Tessmer and her husband Ira Russianoff.
