Bruce McLeod Burns, 56, passed away in Westminster, CO on Sunday, 04/11/21. He died suddenly with his wife and family by his side, Andrew Healy-Falencki and Joseph Grover.
Born on 06/17/64 in Pasadena, Texas, son of Robert E. Burns and Mary Ann Killough (McLeod).
Over the course of his adventurous life, he lived in Houston TX, Martha's Vineyard, Hartford CT, New York City, Austin TX, Dripping Springs TX, Lakeway TX, and what would be his final resting place in Westminster, a northwest suburb of Denver, CO.
A soldier of the United States Army, he trained with the 82nd Airborne Division, which is an airborne infantry division of the United States Army, specializing in parachute assault operations into denied areas.
A business owner for the past 20 years, he traveled down multiple and interesting career paths: Master Electrician for 5 years, the owner of 7 corporations that supplied the negotiation and evaluation/calibration of clients, customers, infrastructure support, and partners. He was a voice-over artist for Austin, TX commercials.
In 2020, he was recognized by the Texas State Parole and Pardons division to participate in the Prison Reform Program in Washington DC to assist in the reduction of recidivism. Solo authorship titles were currently in the works.
He graduated from Pasadena High School in 1985 and then attended the City University of New York BMCC Nursing School in 1987-88. Then in 1989, he was Certified in Neuro-Associative Conditioning Systems by the Robbins Research Institute in Maui, Hawaii. He continued his education at Trinity Valley Community College from 1990-1991 and Western Texas College Heating and Refrigeration in 1992-93, as well as Lee College, Bayton, TX Computer Science 1994-1996 and Continuing Education IT Management Huntsville, TX 1996-1997. Then, from 2008 to 2021 he specialized in Ubuntu Desktop, Ubuntu Servers BASH Scripting.
Bruce Burns is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Suzanne, his in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins and brothers Robert Burns II (Bo), Scott McLeod Burns, twin brothers Eric and Erin Burns, and stepsister Angela Burns Sustala, as well as his beloved nieces and nephews Jacob Spivey, Nicholas Barber, and Corrie Ficara. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Floyd and Delphi Burns (paternal side) and Robert and Maxine McLeod (maternal side).
