Bruce Brouillette Obituary

Bruce Owen (Bodhi Ji) Brouillette, 57, departed this plane of existence Tuesday October 27, 2020. He was at home, surrounded by his devoted wife, friends and people he had recently met, but who’s hearts he deeply touched.

He is survived by his wife, Lumi, brother Sonny (Karalee) Brouillette, sister Melody, son Jon (Jessie) Brouillette, daughter Amber Brouillette, and “bonus” daughters Amy (Rich) Fonseca-Nave, Melanee (Corbin) Clarke, son Logan (Kaili) Sondrup and 6 beloved grandkids and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He follows brother Gary, mother Barbara, nephew Curtis and father Glenn.

As the youngest of 4, born in the Bay area, he had fond memories of just him and his mother, while his siblings were at school, going places with just him and his dad (sugar cane sticks!), Sonny taking him along with him, and wanting to protect  his sister.

His childhood felt challenging, and he experimented with ways to change how he felt for many years. He found his way to a program where he was supported and helped support others make better choices, in February 1989.

Bodhi has had a long and varied career path, coming to realize in 2012 that he was allergic to bosses. This reignited his entrepreneurial mindset, and the ideas flew fast and furious for the remainder of his time with us. Here are a few examples, healthy coffee, organic hemp, car share/rental, travel, juicing and ionic foot bath businesses.

In 2005 he was introduced to a healing modality, Brandon Bay’s The Journey Method, and his life’s purpose and passion was discovered. While healing and clearing many painful situations and memories, he became an accredited Journey Practitioner, a certified Visionary Leadership Coach, a Journey Accredited Life Coach and authorized Journey Presenter. He presented The Journey Method seminars many times and was in his element when he did! He loved helping people uncover the shining diamond we each are, in fact, he used the platform as a top driver for Uber and Lyft for 5-6 years to spread this Truth.

Using these tools, Bodhi did his best to make amends and receive forgiveness for his mistakes, especially during his kid’s childhoods.

Bodhi is a fierce lover of Truth, loves his wife, kids and grandkids, his cats (and sharing his meals with them), teasing and joking, traveling (especially internationally), baseball (viva los gigantes!), football (raiders, thank you very much), riding his bike, feeding the ducks and geese, and again, helping people. If you needed food you were fed, ex: lumi came home one day to meet a young homeless pregnant couple having a grilled steak dinner with bodhi. He gave shoes, gloves, socks, shirts and jeans to various homeless people in need, often leaving himself without. He never turned any Journey, coaching or seminar attendee away for lack of funds, anyone with a sincere desire was welcome with or without partial or full payment.

His huge loving heart and bright spirit will be missed around the world, as he is a bright, bright light for so many.

If you’ve had interactions with Bodhi, please take some to express love and gratitude to him for the love, laughs and/or lessons you experienced, and remember, as he loved to say “who we are is not this body”.

Any memorial contributions may be directed to Lumi, to be split between the grandkids.
