Bradley Bechard Obituary

A beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, Bradley Joseph Bechard left this world on May 30, 2021. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on July 22,1987, and brought happiness and laughter to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mildred Bechard, and grandfather, Joe Bechard. He is survived by his father and mother, Joe & Sonya Bechard, his sisters, Gabrielle and Monique (Joe), his grandparents, Henry & Margaret Eshuis and Susan Bechard, and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Bradley grew up in Holland, Michigan. As a very young child he battled and beat Leukemia, a battle that attests to his strength and determination. He grew up a loving and protective big brother to his two sisters, always wanting to lead the way for them. Although, truth be told, he found pleasure in pranking them constantly. His family will forever remember his contribution to competitive game nights (including intense games of Uno and 5 State Rummy), long summer days in the pool playing the “toothpick game”, family trips spread out in the family Previa, and cool Thanksgiving nights playing flashlight tag. Often known to others as a quieter and more private person, among those who knew him best knew his appreciation of quirky humor and constant spot-on impressions. If you tried to go toe-to-toe with him about current events or movie trivia, you were bound to lose.

Bradley attended Holland Public Schools where he excelled in the classroom and on the basketball court; he will be forever remembered for his “Rainbow 3’s”. Bradley was so hard working and goal oriented but, yet, always found humor in things. Even as a young child he wondered if there might be such a thing as Clown College, however, as he grew up, he settled for attending and graduating on the Dean’s list from Hope College. After taking some gap time, he attended Marquette Law School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, graduating with a degree of Juris Doctor, as well as earning an award for acquiring the most pro-bono hours while in the program. It was here in Milwaukee that he developed a love for and participated in the stand-up comedy scene. Bradley worked for several years in Wisconsin before he ended up at Michigan State University and obtained a master’s degree in Human Resources & Labor Relations. Bradley had just recently moved out to Colorado and was beyond excited to start a new chapter of his life close to the mountains he so enjoyed being in.

Bradley left us too soon, but he loved deeply and was deeply loved. He will be missed tremendously. His family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to extended family and friends for all their love and support during this exceedingly difficult time.

When you think of Bradley, remember his kind and sensitive heart, his unmatched witty sense of humor, and his love for the people in his life. When you gather, celebrate the good memories you have of him. Honor him by celebrating your current relationships and by loving and living life to the fullest.

A family Celebration of Life will be held later this summer.

If so inclined, a memorial contribution can be made in Bradley’s honor to either Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Comic Relief US
