It is with unimaginable sorrow and heartbreak that we share the news of the passing of Bonnie Poston, a beloved mother, wife, friend and grandmother. Bonnie left this world a better place filled with joy, compassion, love, humor and sparkle, touching the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
As a devoted Mother and Grandmother, Bonnie raised her three children, Lucas, Megan and Rachel, with love, wisdom, laughter and strength. One of her greatest joys was teaching the kids to read, spell, be confident in themselves and, yes, sparkle. She never missed one of the kid's events... football, gymnastics, girlscouts, art, etc., they always knew Mom was there. Since the birth of her Grandson, Greyson, Bonnie was committed to being a great BonBon (grandma). Each week, she traveled to see Megan, Thomas and Greyson ensuring they would all remember her infectious smile and caring embrace. Bonnie's brother and sister, David and Wendy, shared a bond unlike any other. They shared memories, countless laughs and an unwavering love for each other which is the gift of a lifetime—one that Bonnie cherished. Bonnie's relationship with her mother, Donna Rowland, was rooted in unwavering love, support and friendship only the two could share. Donna was Bonnie's guiding light and true best friend. Donna mentorred Bonnie, the entire family actually, imparting wisdom about the importance of her relationship with Christ; ultimately, shaping the wonderful woman she became. Listening to the two of them laugh and pal around warmed everyone's heart and affirmed their enduring connection is/was, well, truly irreplaceable.
As a friend, Bonnie had a unique ability to have people love her within moments of meeting her. She was more than just a wife, mother and best friend, she was a light always sparkling and bringing others together. Her warmth, kindness and love touched us all deeply. Bonnie was quick to introduce and include people in her good times. No one was ever on the outside with Bonnie around. She was always the first to extend a thoughtful hand bringing more and more together to enjoy the moment. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Bonnie will confirm and the number of people that considered her a best friend is undeniable evidence of the beautiful impact she had on people.
In addition to being beautiful, smart and caring, one of my favorite things about Bonnie is how funny she was. Her sense of humor was legendary. Those who knew her best can attest to her never-ending desire to laugh and make others laugh. She was always joking around scaring the pants off us at the house, seeing a comedy show or grabbing a microphone and taking the karaoke stage reminding patrons... "don't forget to tip your waitresses and bartenders". LOL Bonnie saw ~30 comedy shows/comedians and somehow managed to meet several. A few examples include Kevin Nealon who incorporate her into his show asking me questions about Bon when she went to the bathroom only to return and have Kevin turn and start addressing her with details of her life he could have never known (stay home mom, spin, sparkle, etc.). Her facial expression was priceless... shock and joy all at once. Joel McHale, after meeting Bonnie for five minutes and hearing her "sonic-clap", told her "you should have your own reality TV show". LOL Ohhhh man she is missed.
Her work as an esthetician exemplifies her passion to care for and make others feel good. She had an avid following of clients who were more than just clients, she considered them all friends. Friends she loved and would go through great lengths to ensure she could spend time enriching their lives through exceptionally warm and embracing care. The sincerity, bi-directional love and mutual respect she fostered in these relationships is evident in the numerous parties her customers (friends) invited her to if only to share another smile, laugh or sparkle with this exceptional woman.
Bonnie's passion for family, friends and laughter are not the only things that stand out about her. Bonnie was a devoted Broncos fan. Going to Bronco games was a place where many of Bonnie's best qualities all came together. ALL her Bronco gear sparkled (jersey, hat, shoes, hair-tie, face tattoo, purse, watch, wallet, gloves, etc.). She made friends with everyone; including, opposing fans from time to time. Special Bronco family friends, you know who you are, even have photos over loved ones taken by Bonnie of them passionately celebrating the Broncos up and down the stairs after a touchdown. David, Bonnie's brother, often referred to Bonnie as his "little Bronco buddy". Regardless of the weather, well most of the time, she was quick to insist the day be spent celebrating the team and happiness of being at the game.
Last but certainly not least is Bonnie’s undeniable flare for all things that sparkle. It was more than just a preference—it was part of who she was, radiating through her personality and everything she touched. One of her favorite shirts had a slogan that perfectly captured her essence: "I don't Sweat, I Sparkle." And that couldn’t be more true—Bonnie didn't just exist; she shined in everything she did. From her shimmering hats to the dazzling outfits she wore, everything about Bonnie sparkled. Her love for anything that glittered was contagious, and she didn’t keep it just to herself. Her creative spirit led her to "bling" countless items for friends and family—whether it was hats, dresses or jackets, she always found a way to add a touch of sparkle to brighten someone's day. It wasn’t just the rhinestones and glitter, it was the way she poured her heart into each piece, making them special and unique. Bonnie’s passion for bling soon blossomed into a business—Bonnie Blings. What started as a personal hobby became something much bigger, as people couldn’t get enough of her bedazzled creations. She began selling her sparkling work in local stores and malls, spreading her love for all things bright and beautiful to an even wider audience. Every piece she created carried a bit of her joyful energy and you could tell that Bonnie truly believed in adding sparkle not just to clothes, but to life itself.
In conclusion, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her, shining bright like the sparkle/light she brought into the world. She is survived by her children, Lucas, Megan and Rachel, her grandson Greyson, and countless family and friends who will miss her dearly. Bonnie's legacy of love, laughter and sparkle will continue to inspire all who were lucky enough to have known her. She lives on through the many memories she left us with. Each tear is a testament to who she was and how dearly she is missed. It is with great comfort, confidence and peace that we look up and see Bonnie sparkle now and forever in her new life/chapter alongside Christ, without limits, being the angel she was meant to be.
