Beatrice Ann MacGregor was born February 14th, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in Royal Oak, Michigan, with her sisters Josephine and Jean. While in college, she met her husband, Donald MacGregor. They married March 7, 1952, and had three children - Todd, Josy, and Molly.
After Todd was born, Bea quit work to stay home and raise their family in their apartment in Ferndale, Michigan. She has said that one of her proudest achievements of her life was having wonderful children. She loved reading to her children. When the family moved to Mexico City in the 1960's, she taught English as a foreign language and had also worked for a marketing company as a tour guide.
As the family got older, Bea and her husband also took on other interests, one of which was running the Detroit Marathon with her husband Don and her daughter Josy, which she said was her other proudest achievement. She and Don took up travel, with one of her favorite places to visit being London, England, as she loved the history there. Another of her cherished places to visit every year was Paris. She and Don had a friend that would let them use his “flat” twice a year.
Bea and Don eventually moved to Charlevoix, Michigan, where she enjoyed time with family and friends, and spent time volunteering in Petoskey. She also grew to love art history and continued to travel.
Eventually she and her husband moved closer to family in Rochester Hills, Michigan, until her husband Don passed away in May of 2015. She lived in the area until May of 2021, when she moved to Louisville, Colorado, to be closer to her daughter Molly. She passed away at the age of 89 on the evening of Friday July 30th, 2021.
Bea’s beloved sister Josephine Goodman passed away in February of 2019, but she leaves behind her beloved sister Jean, and her three children, Todd MacGregor, Josy Foisy, (son in Law Vince Foisy), and Molly MacGregor. She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Sean Foisy, Karlene Foisy, Jessica Olds, and Nicholas Olds, and 4 great-grandchildren, Andrew Jenks, Thomas Jenks, Tavin Olds, and Charlyn Olds.
Bea loved her family and provided countless memories to us all. She will be missed greatly.
