Andrew Langenderfer died at home near his loving wife and three beautiful children on January 21, 2026, of an unexpected cardiac event.
Andrew was the beloved husband of Lora and a devoted dad to his children Lucca (6), Robin (3), and Rowan (3). He was the beautiful son of Scott Langenderfer (husband to Laura Langenderfer) and Terri Baumgartner (née Wood). Andrew is survived by his brother Alex Langenderfer (husband to Anna and father to Aaliyah, Leon, and Maera) and his brother Erik Langenderfer (husband to Missie). Andrew was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joyce and James Wood, and his uncle, James (aka Jimmer) Wood. He was also preceded in death by his fraternal grandparents, Beverly and Herman Langenderfer, his uncle Keith Bettinger and Cousin Ben Langenderfer. Andrew is survived by his great uncle Bill Klingbeil, Uncle Greg (husband to Margie), Aunt Pam, and many loving cousins and friends.
Andrew was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. He attended St John's Jesuit High School followed by Case Western University where he graduated with a B.A. in psychology. He went on to earn his M.B.A. from the University of Toledo. He worked as a Test Analyst and other positions in information technology in various industries. Andrew worked very hard to support his family and had a propensity to spoil his kids; he wanted to give them the world.
Andrew was fiercely devoted to his kids and wife. His sharp-witted, clever sense of humor allowed him to be the daddy his kids adored. However amazing he already was, Andrew still strove to grow every day to be the most perfect dad he could imagine. His daughter and twins were his greatest accomplishments and they will cherish him endlessly.
Andrew is appreciated and remembered for his kind heart and his passionate convictions. As a self-proclaimed nerd, he was a devoted friend to many who shared his hobbies of D&D, magic, board games and video games. He also loved music, playing the drums and attending concerts regularly. He may have attended a record number of They Might Be Giants shows. To commit to his health, Andrew avidly attended the gym even when he was overworked and tired.
Strong moral convictions led Andrew’s life. Because of his deeply empathetic spirit, injustices he witnessed caused him anguish. But he stayed grounded through the love from those immediately around him.
Andrew’s memory will live on through the love he gave and the family and friends he leaves behind.
The funeral service will be held at The Establishment on Thursday, January 29th at 11:00 am MST with a reception to follow. A public viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service.
For those unable to attend, the service will be streamed at https://evt.live/andrew-langenderfer-funeral
