Lon E. Baker, age 59 passed away on Wednesday, September 25th, 2019 in Montezuma, Colorado. He was born in Peru, Indiana, but had been a Colorado resident most of his life. He is survived by his parents Ken and Helen, his two daughters; Deseray (Dan) and Leann (Joshua,) his four grandchildren, his sister Tammy, his brother Kevin, his ex-wife Jackie, extended family and numerous friends.
Lon was a lifelong mechanic, both by career and hobby. In the 1980’s & 90’s he owned a towing company and salvage yard with his father and sister, while moonlighting at an envelope factory to support his family. He later went on to work at John’s 4x4 and Transwest Truck and Trailer. He was always working on something, his own toys or helping family and friends with vehicles.
When Lon wasn’t in his garage he enjoyed many outdoor activities and was an avid snowmobile and dirt bike rider. Lon enjoyed camping, car races, and riding his motorcycle. He was adventurous and loved sharing his hobbies with many friends, but most of all his grandchildren.
