Betty Wyant Obituary

Born July 3, 1941 in Paducah, Texas

Died July 23, 2019 in Thornton, Colorado

“No man is a failure who has friends.” Clarence from It’s a Wonderful Life

Going through some of Mom’s belongings after she passed, we came across a small notebook where she had written down some of her favorite verses and quotes. The above was one of them.  Mom was a glorious success!  She made friends wherever she went, and all who knew her, loved her.  More than one friend she has remained in touch with for over 60 years.  Several of the nurses and staff that worked with Mom in her final months said she was one of their favorite patients.  She hugged and kissed them and treated them like they were family in her home.

Betty May Young Wyant was born in Paducah, TX on July 3, 1941 to parents Elbert “Ted” Young and Jessie “Jim” Jolley Young.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Nelda Young O’Neal, Charles Young, Kathy Young Hanks, and Kenneth Young. Betty went Home to Heaven on July 23, 2019 surrounded by her children.  She is survived by her children, daughter Kelly (Wyant) Claus, son-in-law Chris Claus, son Matthew Wyant, daughter-in-law Sharon Wyant, daughter Kari (Wyant) Schaan and son-in-law Joe Schaan, and her grandchildren Rachel Colbert, Nikita Wyant, Trevor Claus, William, Nelda and Ben Schaan.  Betty devoted herself to her family; she was dedicated in each and every role - Mom, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law, and especially, Nana.

Her countless prayer journals are the proof that when she said she would pray for you, she absolutely did.

Her unwavering faith in Christ brought her joy and peace, especially through countless health battles and losses of so many dear to her. She will “dwell in the house of the Lord forever”, Psalm 23, with those very loved ones, and with her God she’s always loved.
