Anne Marie Ebert Rein, 84, passed away March 4, 2019 following several years of progressing dementia. Anne was born on November 20, 1934 to Paul F. and Ellen Stoudt Ebert in Palmerton, PA. Her brother Paul Ebert (Linda Ebert) preceded her in death. She met her future husband, Charles “Chuck” Rein, at Wittenberg College. They were married May 25, 1957 and enjoyed 55 years of marriage before Chuck passed away. They have one daughter, Kristin Rein Kinchen (Mike Kinchen), Thornton, CO.
Anne graduated as Valedictorian from Palmerton HS and Wittenberg College. She continued her education at University of Buffalo (NY) where she earned her Masters of Social Work. During these years, she also played the violin in school & community orchestras.
She had 4 careers, all of which she loved – wife, mother, grandmother, and social worker. She was also the quintessential Pastor’s Wife supporting her husband Chuck, a Lutheran Pastor in Buffalo, NY, Pittsburgh, PA, Hellertown, PA, and El Paso, TX. She made many life-long friends in each location. She was an avid letter writer and stayed connected with all her friends and relatives.
Anne’s social work career allowed her to serve others. She worked with both children and the elderly. She found much joy in her work helping with adoptions, and in later years, helping elderly people with companionship and daily life assistance.
Anne loved being “Grannie Annie” to her grandsons, Cameron Kinchen (Ft. Collins, CO) and in Collin Kinchen (Renton, WA). Children were her joy, and she could always be found on the floor playing with them or creating other shenanigans.
Anne also enjoyed her beloved dogs, traveling, and visiting with friends and family.
In 2003, Anne and Chuck moved to Loveland, CO to be closer to family. At Good Samaritan Village, Anne continued to make many friends, enjoyed volunteering her time, and swimming. After her husband’s death, she developed a special friendship with her neighbor David Landers.
In 2017, Anne moved to Park Regency in Thornton, CO to be even closer to daughter Kristin & family, who provided much love and assistance.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Anne’s memory to ELCA World Hunger or Lutheran Disaster Response at http://www.elca.org/Our-Work/Relief-and-Development
Memorial Services will be held Friday, March 15, 2019 in the Spiritual Life Center at Loveland Good Samaritan Village, 2101 S Garfield Ave., Loveland, CO at 10:00am.
