Marilyn M. Dickinson, long-time Worland, Wyoming and Broomfield, Colorado resident, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, at the age of 94.

Marilyn was born on August 6, 1931, in Worland.  She was the proud daughter of Joe and Ruth McKeon.  Marilyn had vivid, wonderful memories of her childhood in Worland and on the family's ranch outside of nearby Ten Sleep.  She graduated from high school in Worland in 1949 and attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie.

While in college, Marilyn met the love of her life, Howard E. Dickinson.  They were married on December 28, 1951.  Howard and she raised a family of two sons while living and working in multiple locations in Wyoming and Colorado.  They loved the Rocky Mountains and the wide-open spaces of the West.

During the 1960s, the family moved to Broomfield for the first time and later lived in Torrington, Wyoming, and Cheyenne, Wyoming.  In 1972, Marilyn and Howard returned to Broomfield where they spent the rest of their lives.  Howard passed away of cancer in 1984.

Marilyn was a beautiful, talented, caring and compassionate person who looked forward to each day of her life, especially the sunny ones.  She enjoyed reading, painting, gardening, traveling and monitoring current events.  She was a life-long learner who was passionate about education, believing it to be an important gateway to success in life.  In her later years, she became a fan of the Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche and stock car racing, all of which would have stunned her husband.

Most of all, Marilyn loved being a wife and mother.  She excelled at both by working hard at what she considered to be the two most important roles of her life.  She was extremely proud of her family, and her unconditional love, devotion, nurturing and support were unquestionably responsible for much of their happiness and success.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Greg, and other family members.  Funeral services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Marilyn's name to the University of Wyoming Foundation, the educational institution of your choice, or one of her favorite charities -- the Ronald McDonald House.  Burial will be alongside Howard at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
